Lurking since my deconversion, finally posting

RE: Lurking since my deconversion, finally posting
The mind is fickle that way, if you want to believe in something, you just might induce hallucinations. The thing is to be able to distinguish what's real and what's not. Some of my friends have had pretty freaky hallucinations due to different medical conditions, but they told me that they learned pretty fast to know what war real and what was not. But it didn't make the hallucinations less scary. I know that the 'monsters' that frequented their minds weren't real, since I was sometimes around when they were hallucinating and I never saw anything.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

That definitely makes sense. Maybe I'm just overthinking it because I've always had an interest in psychic stuff, and it reminds me a little of that.

It is indeed interesting, but I suggest tackling the matter with science. A magician's show is no less fantastic even though you know it's all about illusions Smile

I think that's the problem, I just don't know specifically what to look up. I figure I would need to look into ways the brain can misfire, along with hallucinations and stuff. I think it'll be interesting. Thanks

Hi from me too.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

if some icelandic guy talked to you about how he had a party with elves and discribed them just like they look like in the lord of the rings movie. does it make his statement more valid?

Welcome
So, which one of these guys did she describe?

EDIT: Apparently the one on the far left isn't the same Baal as the other ones.

I thought it was different in the key of Solomon, looks like I need to relook it up. Otherwise I feel reeeeeeeally stupid lmao

P.S. Gaiz, I feel really stupid. Thanks Darkstar, now I at least know I'm not crazy for not knowing what was going on. Her and my brother were telling me all kinds of crazy shit last night. I shall hang my head in shame for a little while, then be back to normal lol

Welcome.

Sounds like fantasy-prone personalities feeding each other.
