And the best advice is figure it out for yourself.

Idiots like you attribute your own personality flaws to every one else, G-C. Not everyone believes shit because some asshole wrote it down in a worthless old book.

Thank you, GC - you just blatently displayed that you have no idea what it actually means to be a freethinker.

I'm 16 and my parents are fundamental christians. They do not believe in evolution.
I haven't even told them I believe in evolution!

Hey welcome. I have a very deep belief in evolution which goes way beyond the beliefs most atheists have in it, but I'm still the first to admit that it's just theory like the rest of physics and not just that, but there's plenty of people who simply aren't interested in this area of science.

I certainly don't think people "have" to believe in Evolution - nor should they. Belief in a young earth (literal 6 day creationism) is nonsense though.

I see evolution much the same way I see quantum physics and general relativity. I actually don't accept QM or GR as being truly representative of the structure of the universe. We know a few things about evolution (facts) but the theory is still largely incomplete.

Tell me something GC. When exactly were you in this kid's shoes? What qualifies you to offer him advice? Many of the atheists on this site have been in his shoes. For many of them the consequences of coming out to their religious parents were nothing short of disastrous. Yet here you are telling him to ignore them and listen to you. Do this kid a favor GC and fuck off.

I'm trying to help him be a man, all I see others doing is making him a coward and ashamed of who he believes he is. You have no idea what shoes I've walked in so keep quite.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

There is a chance that speaking up will kick this young man out of his home. You can shut the fuck up right now.
