Well, apparently I had gotten through to him enough that he agreed with my blind faith and "illogical beliefs". I found nothing frustrating about that. All I found irksome was his scandalous accusation, to which I replied:

I have no need of them because I believe. Even when it makes no sense, I believe. Even when my beliefs contradict each other, I hold to them all. No amount of reason can reach me. I just hold my ears and say "lalalalalala".
