I appreciate it man. I'll probably get well-acquainted quickly (well I kind of already did with one of my threads which escalated quickly).
Yes, I am a Christian on these forums. I am not here to judge or condemn, rather, I am here to debate, learn, and incite discussion. Yes, I think that my avatar is hilarious.

To tell you the truth, it has actually been awhile since I have had some good debates with others on this caliber. I guess I didn't really think about the whole pool of shark things.

I enjoy forums like these immensely because I love to debate and argue.

Yo-yo, Clem, welcome aboard! I see you've already started to find your feet around the boards. I haven't yet had the opportunity of engaging you, not counting this, but who knows?

That would be "en passant" ("in passing"). "En passe" - or more simply "passe" - is roulette. Chess boards are not usually noted for spinning around during play and if yours does, you might be doing it wrong.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I am not here to convert anyone, I am just interested in what you all think.

Thanks.

Welcome. But let me state in advance your description of position says "Christian", so it is going to be hard when you comment here for us not to take that into account when you interact with us.

Secondly, I find it odd that you have the FSM as your avatar which is usually used by atheists to poke fun of the idea of ALL God/god/deity claims, especially those of the "all powerful" variety.

And I think it is great that you say "I am not out to convert anyone". But usually my experience has been(not you, just in general), one of two things happen.

1. The person who says that doesn't really mean it and ends up preaching.

2. Is unwilling to debate.

If you spend time here and don't want debate then for right now merely reading might bring you more understanding. But when you comment on what it is your positions are some atheists tend to find "I don't want to convert you" as a simple code for " don't challenge me".

Having said that, I am on a few atheist websites and have online on one website or another since 01 and have run into theists who handle debate quite well and do not take the heat personally.

My advice is to get to know us, and treat us as individuals because we really are. We do not all agree on all things all the time merely because we don't believe. Some of us here like the library, and others, like me, like the boxing ring(verbally only).

We still are human being and we have family members and friends and co-workers who do have some degree of belief. We can like you and not like everything that you might say on ANY individual claim.

So welcome. But I wouldn't be afraid to defend your position. Being challenged is how you learn. Learning doesn't mean you have to agree, but by duking it out, much like practicing in the NFL and watching your opponent's moves, makes you think.

I appreciate your response and your advice. As for my avatar, the first time I ever heard it of it made me laugh very much. It's very tongue and cheek.
