Certainly, Christians can claim that God did it. They can and will claim that about everything. But, who cares? The people responsible for actually figuring out how the universe works generally do not care about their ridiculous claims.

But then of course (according to these books I read) the human mind can only understand the universe in such a methodical rationalistic way because the universe itself is a product of a rational mind. Therefore science itself is concrete evidence for God and we can thank him for the progress we make.
