RE: Gambling
We gambled on a crab race while at Captiva Island FL. Actually it was an all ages thing and even kids could bet on a crab. My two year old picked one and I put money on it. I guess they got away with it because half of the winnings went to the United Way? I wonderd about that because technically it was gambling because the winners got the other half of the pot. Two of the winners were kids too.

RE: Gambling
I used to gamble in that sence that I was betting on sport and stock(yes you can do that). I did win as most at one time around 900 euros.

I lost much also, but I won it back and decided that it wasn't worth it.

Coincidentally, Singapore is building a casino as we speak.

I'm no gambler myself, never have been and don't plan to ever, but like what Godlesspanther said, I'd set aside a couple bucks and even if I lose it, it doesn't matter. I've tried the lottery a couple times, always putting in $2 but I haven't won yet haha Big Grin

Guilty I'm afraid. I back horses, play cards and do the lottery.
I'm damned.

No I haven't. My luck's pretty bad as well, but looking at life philosophically, I think I've been lucky in other ways, so losing a bit of money is no big deal.

RE: Gambling
I used to enjoy gambling, but money has been tight since I started University so I haven't been in a while.

I used to be a part of a small card-counting team and we made some alright cash. It was too stressful though for the relatively small return. I'd rather go with friends and just have fun. That's when I've made (and lost) the most money.

The most I ever made in one night gambling was about $600. The most I've lost was $300. I'd average $60 - $100 a night. Overall, I'm sure I came out ahead, but losing $300 in an hour was an eye-opening and I cut it down after that.

There's really nothing like walking out of a casino a week's pay richer, though.

RE: Gambling
I don't do any gambling that is purely chance. I play some Hold 'em Poker when my bankroll is big relative to the stakes, and I am good enough to win more often than not, so that along with the bankroll size means in the long run I'm pretty much guaranteed to make some.
