Salvia Divinorum

How many people have used this before? I know some of you are not American and I was wondering if your countries have any laws banning this plant. Federally it's legal and in Kentucky it's legal. However, some states have banned it. I'm waiting for KY to ban it but not many people seem to be trippers any more. As long as people don't start abusing it then it will probably remain legal. That whole lifestyle of tripping is dieing with the old hippies. Mostly you can get it a head shops (places that sell smoking supplies for illicit drug use) and some adult book stores sell it. I used it once and am not interested in doing it again because it really made me feel too weird. People used it for rituals in the past and I can't imagine it ever really catching on too much. People thought you left your body and could meet the spirit world while on it.

According to http://www.salvia-world.com/law.html, in Singapore it isn't banned, though unconfirmed. I've not heard anyone talking about it in Singapore though...not popular I guess...or mostly under-the-table stuff.

Salvia gives you a very quick very intense high, and dies off just as quick. Not a lot of people use it because the trip is quite scary and you loose all control. With weed the buzz lasts longer and you keep some control of your faculties.

I've used Salvia a lot. I've used it as just dried leaves, 5x, 10x, and 20x. I would reccomend using higher concentrations and smoke less of the plant material. It is very interesting stuff although I would not call it recreational, due to the nature and intensity of the trips. There are a bunch of trip reports at http://www.erowid.org put on your critical thinking caps before you just believe what anyone says there. For me the trip usually includes thought exchanges with a female entity.

I tried dried leaves (smoked and chewed) and it just gave me a headache. I definitely want to try the extract and get some effects, but I'm in no rush.

No and I'd rather not. I'd rather be mesmerized by the awesome music, than have the extra addition of being doped out, meaning that I wouldn't be aware of the awesome tunage so much.

Interesting. I've never heard of it, but I lead a very sheltered and boring life. I watched a couple of videos from the second link (the links by the way have comas at the end and don't work when you click on them). It seems to be a bit like LSD, but doesn't last as long. LSD is quit an intense drug. I took it a few times in my youth and have no desire to take it again so I think I'll stay away from this one too. I'll stick to booze.

Yeah it's not recreational. Just wondering what the rest of the world thought about it. I can buy it three miles down the road from a metaphysical shop. We do have some Pagans here and the Christians hate that but oh well that's life. My husband has been wanting me to buy some so he can try it. I know if I get it I'll do it too and I really don't want to go through that again. It's not like LSD. I mean it causes you to trip but the trip is completely different. I felt like something was ripped out of my body. Like I wasn't in my body and I was just looking through my eyes but I couldn't feel any emotional feelings and felt just...weird. Depth perception was off and my sense of time was off as well. It came on as quick as it left me. Ended up rocking myself under a blanket both times to wait it out. Everyone I know that has done it has had two things to say about it. 1. Not a party drug and 2. It's intense.
