RE: Salvia Divinorum
Sounds like not a good idea to me. Rhizo's experience seems different, maybe he's getting the 'good stuff', lmao.

EvF,

Yeah man 20x! Just a pinch in a bong does the trick and I mean a pinch, like, tip of fingers pinch!

I am very experienced with hallucinogens; I grew cubensis for three years with many many trips along the way. There is something much more intense and special when you eat them fresh.

Salvia is meant to be had in a dimly lit room, with a sitter (Not necessary if you are familiar with hallucinogenic states). I've done some before work and my head was clear as crystal about 20 minutes after I smoked the stuff. To me it is kinda like a magic eight ball only lead by my mental state at the time.

I think of an amorphous problem like 3D time or infinite regression in time and then smoke; the result is a bouncy mental reflection that manifests as the spirit of the plant. I then get some ideas relating to the topic that are reconstructions of previously held beliefs. Asychronous data realignment can lead to new insights. Kinda like randomly tossing ingredients into a recipe to figure out different tastes.

Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word

Lol, yeah it is hard to un-believe in souls when the memories of being outside my body and meeting entities exists in my head. I hold those beliefs in a section of my brain that accepts "maybe logic", an idea put forth by one of my favorite writers, Robert Anton Wilson. I've read a bunch of Aleister Crowley too, and his ideas about magic and reality are interesting.

Just remember that belief is a spectrum and my belief in souls, spirits, and whatever other kooky crap I have stored in my synapses are low on that spectrum. I also still get gifts from Santa. I don't believe in him but I do enjoy the extra present exchange (I get my mom a santa present sometimes).

Belief is a spectrum huh? Could you clarify in what sense it is? So belief is an exception and you believe in these - in your own words - 'kooky' beliefs somewhat, but then when it comes to Santa on the other hand - you don't believe at all?

I would suspect that the reason you believed that stuff when you were on drugs, was probably because you were on drugs! I bet that's where you got the sensations from! (To be honest I'm thinking "No shit!" on that matter). It's not evidence; so therefore there's no reason to believe it. I just find it funny that you do Big Grin Maybe one day you shall extinguish it Tongue

EvF,

Ok take two beliefs that I hold:

1. I believe in souls based on a personal experience of being outside my body.

I was mildly stoned at the time so that makes my experience suspect, ergo not a very strongly held belief.

2. I believe that I will have a job tommorow.

Intel is great at notifying us of layoffs and my lab just took on twice the work that we used to do, ergo lots of evidence to support this belief.

1. So you were 'mildly stoned' and you consider it somewhat evidence? Ergo why it's a belief at all, despite the fact it's not that strong? Cos I don't see how that's evidence see...

2. Yeah, so there's evidence for this one. The first one you consider there to be weak evidence? But I don't see how this 'weak evidence' is valid at all if that's the case...so in other words, how is it evidence at all? How does it back up the belief whatsoever, logically?

There I 'took them'.

P.S: I'm just wondering if this is semi-on topic, properly on topic, or off-topic.

There's a lot of stuff our subconscious gets up to. Not having touched drugs or even alcohol much, I've experienced mild out of body experience and premonitions in dreams. Nothing of consequence and certainly not provable at all. The best I can come up with is to be able to say that I just lived through a moment I've previously dreamed of.

I used to cherish this as some 'personal gift' which makes me laugh now. I attribute it to superstitious bollocks of no importance. I think it's the only sensible conclusion.
