Thus, in order to join god, you must be willing to accept his immoral actions by telling yourself that they aren't immoral.
Drich Wrote:The reason the question was broken up was to break you line of reasoning. Look at what you wrote Here you whole arguement is based on a what if... What if God changes his mind... Rather than asking yourself Has God changed His mind? The answer (Even if you do not understand it) is No, never.
God changed his mind in Exodus 32. However, it is not a concern over if god changes his mind; it's a concern over if god decides to act in direct opposition to his own promises. Since he showed that he will do so, and since you refuse to judge those actions as immoral, we know that god is capricious, and that it's okay for him to be so.
Drich Wrote:So you can admit thatGod is above your standards,
By your definition, god has no standards. God's standards are whatever he happens to feel that they are, at any given moment, at which point they are the standards that he always had. "We've always been at war with Oceania", etc.
Drich Wrote:yet you will try and shame him into letting you have things your own way but comparing Him to a mobster?
It's an apt description. Although I wouldn't try to shame god, as it appears that he is shameless.
Drich Wrote:Not the best Judgement day defense strageity, but I guess if that is all you got, then what does it really matter?
It doesn't matter, since there is no god to confront me after I shuffle off of this mortal coil. If there was, and it was the one you describe, I'd realize that it was all a roll of the dice anyway.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
