Gorillas in the Mist?

I'm pretty sure it's a political statement about the current state of our governments and younger people getting into power.

I hesitate to use the phrase "No Shit Sherlock" here. The point is that JYB is, for reasons best known to himself, mangling the concepts of evolution and revolution. However, even in this bizarre context, he is making some basic egregious errors.Viz:

Not at all, because primates are not the only species in the jungle. For instance, I think the lions, if asked, might have one or two things to say on that point. Not to mention those remote parts of the rainforest in which the food chain is dominated by various species of giant spider (and where Stimbos fear to tread).

War? No. Struggle for survival? Certainly.

Also, for 'mutants' read 'present evolutionary level of species' or similar. This is not a 50s B-movie. Steve McQueen isn't going to save you.

It depends on what febrile model of "evolution" you're toying with. If strength and power earns a survival advantage, then you'd have a point. More power and influence = more pussy and food, but at the cost of increasing insecurity and paranoia as those traits are selectively favoured. Is that the sort of society you want? Because I don't, and I'm sure there are one or two others who might agree.

Fortunately, primates are, generally, among the most social of animals, evolving as a co-operative group. More individuals working together = increased safety, shelter, food, opportunites for mating (unless you happen to be me of course Sad) etc. 'Lone wolves', although they may earn themselves short-term gains, will tend to find themselves on the periphery of the group and ultimately fending for themselves. This rarely ends happily.

Not necessarily, and not at all in the case of social species, but at least you recognise that the jungle doesn't consist merely of primates.

the mutant primates have begun their chest thumping

I for one welcome our new animal overlords - unless it's those sodding great spiders, in which case if you don't mind I'll be standing on this chair and screaming like a prepubescent schoolgirl at a Justin Bieber concert.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
