I dislike virtually everything from the rave/chill scene ... not to put too fine a point on it I consider it talentless shit and it is music like that that made me break from the soul, funk, jazz funk genre and start listening to rock & nuMetal. I prefer nuMetal over metal because I' like the more produced sound of nuMetal over the solo's and stuff that features in H/Metal, I like screamy stuff as long as it has some music in it, I like female vocalists in that scene and so on.
Some of my favourite bands are 30 Seconds to Mars, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, Drowning Pool, Evanescence, Foo Fighters, Filter, Staind, Funeral For A Friend, Hoobastank, KoRn, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, Nerf Herder, Nightwish, Nirvana, Avenged Sevenfold, Spineshank, The Dandy Warhols, The Offspring, Three Days Grace & Trivium. Bowling For Soup, Dimmu Borgir, Epica, God Forbid, Godsmack, In Flames, Kamelot, Killswitch Engage, Madina Lake, Papa Roach, QOTSA, Rise Against, SOiL, Static X, The Used & Velvet Revolver. I used to like Lostprophets (the first nm band I got into) but went off them a bit when they released their 3rd album. I like lots of other stuff too but pretty much not rave, hip hop, chill, rave, garage or any of that and I still like all my old Jazz Funk, Funk, Reggae and stuff like that.

Saerules, what reasoning are you using, when you say that since I like Orbital they must be at least fairly good? Lol
I think they're fucking incredible, but not everyone likes them.
@Kyu: You say you consider most electronic music talentless shit. What's talentless about using technology to make music? It's not the gear, but what you do with it. There's a vast spectrum of talent (HUGE, HUGE spectrum....there's a massive amount of stuff you can do with electronic equipment) in elecronic music. Most elecronic music I think is shit. But I think most music is. I think most of everything is 'trash'. Some stuff is better, and I personally find Orbital to be unbeatable.
On the matter of 'talent', I quote Paul Harnoll of Orbital: "But it's not how difficult it is - it's about how entertaining it is. "
Something I don't think I could possibly agree with more, when it comes to music and anything analogous to it, like art, etc. It's about the effect, not the cause - it doesn't matter how you get the musical/artistic effect, so long as it turns out awesome, in my view. And if something is really difficult to do, but it comes out fucking boring as a result, or a piece of crap - I don't give a shit that it was difficult to pull off. Producing the entertaining result(s) is the talent that matters, to me.
