Show me your definition of GOD(s).

Show me your definition of GOD(s).
We have some new Muslim posters now so maybe one of you can help me out here. I'm trying hard to understand what these gods are that you all are always going on about. I've asked before but have never received a good enough definition for me to know how to answer the question of belief in gods.

Please tell me exactly what would count as a god. If you say that God is whatever the prophet or Koran or Bible says it is, you will not have helped me in any way. I'd be happy to hear your particular tradition's claims once I understand what are the defining attributes of a god or God.

Recently one of our Christians explained that God was everything. He said something like: it isn't a question of whether or not God exists because God just is existence. Again, not helpful.

So Dawud can you tell me what we're dealing with here? What are 'gods'?

God is unknowable. But everybody knows him. They just can't agree on who he is. Something is wrong here...

Whoever said that sounds like a pantheist. However, atheists must concede that technically, according to the letter of the law (the law being the dictionary of definitions) then God is existence...or to cherry pick God is the Supreme Being. If you are confused, I can repeat my first post called "The Supreme Being for Dummies"

1. It either defies definition or neatly fits whatever definition the current topic needs it to.

2. It fills the gaps.

Sounds just like what I need. I am a complete incompetent when it comes to making any sense of what a god may be.

Too often true. I'm inclined to think that may be all there is to it unless someone who knows god(s) can tell me what sets a god apart from an ancient, powerful, terraforming alien.

I don't have one. God is whatever god is.

And does this "god" come in more than five flavours?

Quite simple really - if I talked about the "largest planet ever"

We wouldn't know all its attributes or be able to even imagine specifically what it looks like etc - but we can know that it's there. We can know it.

Likewise if there were such things that were beyond human perception but knowable through their effects around us (e.g. a human mind) we could get to know it but not understand it.

Not taking any presumptions there cannot be things that are beyond human perception, you can see that there are many things we can be aware of and not fully understand.

Shorter version:

God is one without the ability to pluralise,
God relies on nothing to sustain Him,
God does not Beget (use part of Him to create another - or pass on the role of God), nor was God born (necessary being),
And there is nothing exactly like God. (Nothing we can imagine is God).

RE: Show me your definition of GOD(s).
Hinduism version:
God is the one that created everything(if something created God then this something is God), God serve himself, ultimate and only master because if God serves someone else then this something is in primary role.
God is the source of everything: signal(we the consciousness), our body, all objects, emotions, energies, states, space, thoughts, desires.
For God in his world we souls work as AI in robots.
There are demons in hell(sinfull souls), we in the middle planetary systems, souls yet to deside on destination, paradise planetary systems populated by saint sages, demigods, souls whit good deeds.
Then there are 3 Gods that control world.
Energy of ignorance controlled by Shiva in people this energy is a tendency for pleasure and violence that leads to self destruction(junkies, bandits).
Energy of passion controlled by Brahma in people its tendency for progress, growth...
Energy of goodness, controlled by Vishnu in people its a tendency for altruism, humanism, giving, forgiving, religion, spirituality, philosophy.
Material world whit 3 Gods in the controlled is created by Supreme Lord, Godhead who's domain is in spiritual world. Material world is a "matrix" He created for own entertainment.
