braw
(br·aww) Dialect, chiefly Scot -adj.
1. fine, pleasant, esp. weather (“It’s a braw day the day” or “It’s a braw, bricht, moonlicht nicht the nicht“).
2. attractive, pretty (often in “You’re really braw, hen. Fancy a Ruby Murray?“).

Number 2 isn't really a definition of "braw" for where I live. For attractive, most would say "bonnie".

My accent always helps when talking to females from elsewhere on the planet. I don't understand people's love for the Scottish accent though... apart from when it comes to insulting people. No one insults someone quite like a Scotsman.

There is no reason to understand to power of the accent. Just count your lucky stars, and be excited it does. Personally I have a thing for beards and certain accents. mmm.... I will never let my husband shave his beard. Wink

Wow my dad used to say that and I never knew he said 'braw'!

I think I thought it was 'broad'.

One time myself and this girl I was dating had flown over to the UK and we took the train up to Edinburgh. We knocked on the door to a bread and breakfast a family ran out of their home and this young Scottish guy opened the door. Maybe 18 years old or something.

He started talking in this thick Scottish brogue that neither of us could understand in the slightest. We looked at each other in confusion over what he said and the guy started laughing. He called into the house and his dad came out. His dad we could understand perfectly fine.

I have an unusual blend of accents. There's some northern spike to some of my words on occasion, but it's mixed with a soft southern lull. Comes from having moved around so much between Michigan and Virginia primarily when I was younger, probably.

That sounds like my husband. His family is nothern, but he grew up in the south.

I'm jealous of people with an accent. I don't have one at all. My voice just sounds like Minnie Mouse (super high pitched).

Any I'm great Thanks for asking. I'm going shopping Big Grin

I went shopping too. And I hate it. Then I spent a couple hours ruining some of the clothes I bought. It's okay, I bought them for that purpose (to practice).

I sense a crafty person. What are you trying to make? What is the practice for? I love crafts. So please tell.
