Exactly how have politics become a religion?

i can kind of see that, state and church should never mix but recently those lines have become blurred. so many politicians bring their own beliefs and values into the office which isnt needed i would say. ie. the debate on abortion, is so many times fueled by the reasoning that its immoral and unjust. and the people who believe that in most cases are the Christians whom sit in office.

I'm sure to politicians it is a religion. Think about it, they're just like preachers. They tell people things they want to hear just so they'll stay employed. Then they "lead" us and eventually get caught up in sex scandals.

This is something a friend of mine posted on FB, and I thought I would get your reactions to it.

No way to avoid politics and anarchy is simply another form of monopoly because anyone with money that wants "no rules", which is how diverse people decide them "politics", simply leads to fascism. So to not pay attention to your elected officials you are handing power over to them blindly.

Only a fool thinks politics is stupid. I don't think politicians should be worshiped but it is stupid to ignore the people who make the laws you live under.
