When I watched it I noticed that the "bad guys" seemed to use evolution to justify their rampage. At one point even saying "evolution always wins" just before doinking superman on the head.

It was a bit of lame writing in an otherwise rather good film.

And of course it was wrong.

Evolution does not "win" because it does not have an agenda.
