Things that Touch You

RE: Things that Touch You
Disney movies are fucking morose! Dumbo? Black Beauty? Fuck those guys. And fuck Where the Red Fern Goes, that shouldn't have been required reading at school no flipping way!
That said, this song gets me everytime I hear it..

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I have NOT seen that video before, but geez am I glad that I did. It connects with the part of me that respects animal sentience, and the homeland of animals.

Glad you liked it.

Here is another one, however, this one makes me sad and hopeful at the same time, weird, lol:

Oh no. I think I'm gonna cry just thinking about it. I have the DVD... I watched it once like, over 10 years ago and haven't allowed myself to watch it again. I thought I would never stop crying.

Maybe it's just nostalgia for the film. But I think if this didn't effect you when you watched the film you are dead inside.
This too. I have the soundtrack on my MP4 Player, and the music from that part always makes me teary.
That's possibly my favourite film ever. Rufio is actually on my list of boy's names if I ever have a son.

Aside from those, I cry very easily. Ridiculously so. Especially in anything about young people who've lost their mothers, probably because I lost my mother quite young so I know how the characters are meant to be feeling and, well anybody who knows that feeling would cry, right?

The first 10-15 minutes of Up... The boys love that movie and it makes me teary everytime. I'm not going to search for the clip, but it's rough.
My husband's tales of visiting refugee and IDP camps. Doesn't have to be his tales... Anytime they're mentioned, really.
News stories where children are harmed from a caregiver's malice or negligence. I find stories about small children being accidentally run over by a person backing out of their driveway particularly heart wrenching.

This song, and the video played during this live performance is quite powerful.

Also, the part in "Saving Private Ryan" when the medic played by Giovanni Ribisi gets shot and the rest of group is trying to save him. Super sad shit.
