Maybe YOU don't even know what your position is.
We also do not know exactly how Allah creates, do we? So why should I think that Allah and His creations are made of the same substance?
1. Always. TBH I didn't notice myself missing out the full qualifier.
2. Cheeky! lol Everything I've thought about I have a position on. This one's an old one, and I'm sure that a search Ninja such as yourself could find plenty of evidence.
3. Yes we can absolutely know that the substance of creation is a derivative of the source element/s. No other substance exists unless you want to surmise that what you're talking about isn't actually the source.
If you're willing to state that, (maybe that's Qur'an'ic :p ), you know you have my full support!

@Rayaan: I like that you seem to know the Koran pretty well. In person, I've never actually run into a devout Muslim. After a few minutes of talking, they have always told me they just follow Islam to avoid family drama. I'm not trying to discredit it, considering I haven't met that many Muslims in person.
On the contrary, I'd like to talk with you and just pick your brain some to understand it better.
After all, whether or not a philosophy is true does not hinge on the example of its supporters. To rephrase; just because I advocate something doesn't mean I understand or live by it.

That doesn't make sense to me.

He means if a person purports to believe something, it doesn't follow that they understand what they believe.

@ Rayaan - The possibility of there being a God is taken as a pass by many to go ahead and believe in him. At this point, you still have no way of telling whether you are right or wrong in your assumptions (or assertions). By the same token, is it wrong to disbelieve due to lack of evidence? I believe this is taking the high ground in order to avoid asserting something as fact before I know that it is. What do you think?

That doesn't make sense to me.
For example:
A U.S. Marine is sitting in a bar.
Another man walks up and sits down, orders a drink, then turns to the Marine and says, "Hey, you're a Marine? Me too!"
The Marine gets excited and replies, "Oorah! I just got outta boot camp.. man it was terrible!"
The man replies, "Oh yeah?! Hah! How 'bout that! Yeahhh.. I didn't go through boot camp, I just decided to be a Marine! Hooyah, 'Merica! "
*Chances are, no U.S. Marine would consider the man one of their own.
........................................
See what I'm saying?
DISCLAIMER: The mention of U.S. Marines has nothing to do with any political view in this example. This example was drawn from a true story that was similar in many ways.

And this story in no way illustrates your point. I don't think even you understand your point.

The reason I said that didn't make any sense is...why would you support something if you didn't fully understand it? You should always be educated in something that you are advocating.
As for your example, it's not good. Unless I'm wrong about what you mean, a better example would have been a nationalistic American who blindly spouts how the U.S. is the greatest, most free, and most powerful country in the world. That's an example of a person supporting and advocating a position without necessarily having knowledge on the subject. Or, an even better example, somebody who supports the Bible as a true, reliable historical source without ever investigating into the matter.
