Just what is it with our species? We just LOVE "secret messages" apart from this "flower language" I would also like to cite "Religious Latin" (another secret language the the plebeians did NOT understand - nor did its perpetrators)

Fungus - Resilience, loneliness, solitude, disgust (we have these on rare occasions)
Fennel - Strength or, as in Shakespeare's Hamlet, flattery and deceit
Thyme - Thriftiness
Sweetpea - You have my thanks (yet to be planted)
Straw - United (as a mulch)
Sunflower - Pure and lofty thoughts
Rosemary - Remembrance
Coriander - Lust
Rose- coral or orange Desire, passion
Cherry blossom - A good education; Transience of life, Wabi-sabi; gentleness, kindness (in Japan), Feminine beauty (in China)
Primrose - Eternal love
Nasturtium - Patriotism
Mint - Suspicion
Balm - (assuming Melissa officianalis) Social intercourse or sympathy
Magnolia - Love of nature; (not planted yet)
Lotus - Purity, chastity and eloquence (ALWAYS love this plant- never a place to put it)
Lobelia - Malevolence (yep… you intrude into my sanctuary and I WILL be malevolent!)
Lily - white Purity; Scarlet=High-souled aspirations, Orange=Desire, passion, hatred (negative)…ooops.
Lemon blossom - Discretion
Lavender - Devotion, distrust
Laurel - Ambition, success, renown (not planted yet)
