I, too, felt a sense of freedom after throwing off the shackles of religion and realizing that there was no need for silly little magic rituals every day to get through life. Nor was there some magic being watching my every move and would do terrible things to me if I committed the tiniest transgression.
I'm glad you were able to see the hypocrisy of a church spending a huge amount of money to add on to the building when people are in need. I'm sure Jesus would be proud of them.
