Just curious, but does any other religion besides Christianity have a ritual that symbolizes eating of flesh (zombies) and drinking blood (vampires)?

On a side note, how can one reconcile the drinking of blood with the admonition given in Acts 15:20 to abstain from blood?

Well, obviously it's OK to symbolically devour Jesus.

Mithraism has the ritual of eating something like the Eucharist, and it's a religion that predates Christianity btw. As for the symbolic drinking of the blood... I can't quite remember if they also did that.

Zombies, ghouls...not sure of the difference at this point except one inflicts more damage in AD&D.

I'm glad when I was religious I was Catholic and just drank wine and pretended it was really blood.

Some Nigerian tribes believe that by eating another human you gain that persons traits.

Dont know how much this is religiously influenced.
