The Hypothetical Game

Pay my student loan.
Save for my children's college. Mortgage. Give some money to family (parents, siblings) Invest. Travel. I hope this is what I would do, anyway.
Pointing around: "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you're cool, fuck you, I'm out!"
Half Baked "Let the atheists come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of heathens belongs to people like these." -Saint Bacon
$1,000,000 - Retire.
$100,000,000 - Retire in luxury.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
I'd build a homeless shelter and soup kitchen...
Next to a mega church... As a constant thorn in the side of the hypocrites who 'own' the church.
1mil: goes to my parents' retirement fund, leftover I'll stash in bank then maybe I'll stay in school longer and do another degree, now I can't afford to.
100mil (assuming after tax?): give away half, exactly half. It'd take me forever to figure out who to give it to, but i think most likely some form of scholarship, my education has been paved largely by scholarships so it's something I've thought of doing, giving back to the community and all that. The other half some goes to parents, the rest I'll travel the world. I have no desire to work at this point. Unless it's just for fun. I'd buy so many shoes lol.
I'd pay off all my debts and never work again. I could live off the interest on a million dollars for the rest of my life. The secret is to just not be extravagant. That's what makes so many lottery winners declare bankruptcy five years later. They think they have to go out and buy new sports cars, a new mansion, expensive clothes & jewelry, etc, but don't plan for the future.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
We'd likely give it all away to family and charities. Serious, a great walloping wad of cash like that wouldn't make a tremendous difference in our lifestyle. Most of our disposable earnings already go into savings. My wife and I are both self-employed in jobs we love and are unlikely to ever retire from. We're properly insured (we live in one of those socialist nightmares some Americans are forever bitching about), the house is paid for and we have no debts of any real consequence.

![]() Thanks to Cinjin for making it more 'sig space' friendly.
I'd buy that domain and host name for the website I want to make for my reviews and become self-employed. One million dollars would be a damn good sum of money to fall back on with that. As for the other scenario I'd give half of it to my folks for putting up with me all these years.
With 100k I'd start my jewelry biz on jewelry tv for fun, buy a blimp to travel the world in, set it up as a hotel with lots of rooms so family can come stay (taking my current car with me). I'd buy orchards and employ people all over the world and take the food with me wherever I go for charity. I'd offer loans for business start ups in 3rd world countries. I'd pay off the families' mortgages and cars. I'd hire a personal chef so I can always eat foods that are healthy for me, and I'd have a massive closet full of everything from shoes to sex toys.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
