Congress has fucked over those employees by allowing some food service workers to be paid slave wages. The employers are happy participants, of course.

In a society where tipping is customary, it's just another added cost like sales tax.

It's not entirely bad for the employees - a good server can make very good money in tips. The bad ones, not so much.

Honestly, I have no idea how the practice started.

As fucked up as the situation is, I wouldn't feel right being served by some poor schlub working for two bucks an hour without leaving a tip. I'd stop eating in restaurants before I'd do that.

My point is, whether it is the Congress that has screwed the server's over or the employers, it is unfair to expect the customer to make up for the difference. At the very least, it should be advertised up-front how much of a tip is to be included in the bill.

When I read stories like this, it makes me laugh that Christians think atheists have launched this "campaign" of sorts, to make them (Christians) look bad. Nope, Christians are doing a fine job of that all by themselves.

Here's a tip: if you can't afford to eat out, don't.

Dear Christians,

I know you don't pay taxes for this giant cage for God you've built, but the government by wide majority is comprised of people that claim to be Theists like yourselves, and since they take a tax cut from my military paycheck that gives you sanctuary to suck the rationality out of simple minded citizens each Sunday, you can take it up with them if you want my money.

The thing that bugs me the most is that I don't look at Christians like this as genuine. There are decent religious people in the world, not all people who follow religion are disingenuous douchebags like these people. Guess what I'm trying to say is it's not only the type of "tip" that was left, but the motive, and I can't help but wonder if this is how they justify not tipping people with money. (Because they are cheap) And to me, that's just gross.

I suppose that depends on your culinary preferences.

If anything, these fake tenners are going to push more people away from Christianity than draw to it. Think about how you'd feel if you were a server with bills to pay, and bust your butt being attentive and giving great service, only to be rewarded with crappy religious preaching. If you weren't keen on attending church before, you're certainly not going to after getting one of those. You're not going to want to have anything to do with sanctimonious tightwad assholes who think it's better to preach than to help someone get by.

Christians are their own worst enemies.

Worse still, what if you were Christian, and made regular Sunday attendance!
