Tis purdy lined in snow that way. I pulled up this thread to post a couple of pics all the while expecting to get a pink "old thread" warning. Thanks for keeping it warm.

So i have pics from two recent todays, one above the bay in the hills and the other on the bay at the dog park.

This one taken in the hills above the bay is my favorite. Love that rosy light you get at sunset.

Is a good thread. I like seeing how and where others live. Cuts down on the assholery. (Or, at least my assholery.) Big Grin

A few from this morning's walk in Redwood park.

I liked the light on this one of Heidi.

I counted back to find out which post put me at 4000. (I was kind of hoping it would be the one in which I tell A Theist that my pompous ass doesn't care what his dumb ass thinks. Nope. Just the post from this morning's walk.)

We hiked our most common walk today at Chabot Regional Park. The walk heads South along a ridge from a parking area to a path that goes steeply downhill to a fairly level trail above a stream. That leads to a trail wide enough to drive on, basically a fire road that climbs back up to the parking area. Just over two miles.

Lia coming up the fire road at the end.

The path above the creek.

Instead of avoiding the power lines, today I looked for angles which made them more photogenic.

Starting off along the ridge South. The path along the creek is down in the canyon below.

Wow, blast from the past, whateverist. Smile I know that area very well from my distant youth. Thanks for recalling it to me!

I had occasion to snap a few shots here and there recently.

Here's a sunset like I can occasionally catch from my place:

Here's a sunset I caught recently driving home from town. I don't see ones like this too often:

Here's a pic of the infamous Kevin, who used up a few of his 9 lives awhile back. He was hinky around the camera and the noises it makes, so not a fabulous shot, but best I could manage:

Snow on the trees is beautiful, as is the layer of red below the clouds in the second shot. Do you have any views for sun up? Being on this West coast we tend only to see sunsets. But before my father-in-law's place reverted to the National Seashore I would sometimes see one over Tomales bay from his kitchen window. I'm a morning person and sun ups are special to me.

This is a youtube video I put up almost two years ago on one of our last visits with a friend who has a Newfoundland dog as well as Heidi Rose and Fletcher at 13 and a half years of age still looking fine. That's our friend David in the black cap. Barnaby kind of had a special interest in Heidi Rose but you can see when he crowds her she rears up and pushes redirects him. Hell if she can turn a cow how hard could it be to turn a 150 pound dog?

Thanks. The snow on the trees shot is a view from just behind my shop/woodshed, shot toward a southwesterly perspective. Here's a better look at a westerly direction from the same vantage point, which shows why seeing sunsets is challenging here (barn, pigs, goats and llama are window dressing):

Here are a couple of shots of the hill -- part of it -- about 30 feet behind my house that rises high to the south/southeast. At this time of year, the sun barely clears the top of the hill at midday. So as you can imagine, I see very, very few sunrises. I have to leave the property before sunrise to see one, and that just doesn't happen very often.

So you can see why I don't catch many sunrise pictures. You're in charge of those, please! Smile

Meant to say also, loved the video of the dogs! What a perfect day you all enjoyed!

Must be fun to have all those animals around. Do they require a lot of care beyond feeding?

I don't see any sun ups from my place either. Same situation with the hills to the East.

I believe you mentioned that your husband passed away. If it isn't too painful, may I ask about that? Must be tough being in paradise alone.
