The Absolutely Adorable Thread

RE: The Absolutely Adorable Thread
I thought it was pretty cute, but only because of the funny narration. He gives the spider a frenchy voice as it tries to hide itsself.

Though I don't have a big fear of spiders. Raeven, have you seen some Legend of Zelda games? That series loves its spiders.

Chad, a long time ago, yes. My nephew was big into Zelda. I don't actually remember the spiders. I used to have a phobia of them, too, but I got over it well and truly by owning a tarantula. Now I find them pretty delightful.

Wait, Zazzy was the one freaking out about the spider. I got the name wrong. Good to see some people know about Zelda though.

All of this is absolutely true, and I know it intellectually. But I guess that's why it's a phobia and not just a fear- none of that matters when I see one. I just shake and cry. I don't know why. It's pretty embarrassing when it happens in public. I can't even stand Charlotte.

maybe it would help you get over them if you see a grandaddy longleg. They look like spiders, but they're totally harmless.

This actually reminds me of when my five year old niece went to a zoo and held a tarantula, but she saw a dead centipede on the house steps and wouldn't go near it. She said it was because they're poisonous, and didn't believe me about tarantulas being poisonous because they're furry.

When I was a child, thousands of these would gather on the ceiling under the back porch, and when you opened the door, they'd all bob up and down- a sea of bobbing spidery things overhead. It was terrifying.

I know they won't hurt me. It's not a fear of them hurting me. It's a fear of them touching me or being near me. It's irrational. I tried the psychological flooding thing in college by doing a project on spiders, but it made it worse.

Here's a Disco the parakeet video to make up for my chicken behavior- he's so cute it's scary.

That desert rain frog is adorable. I saw it before, but didn't comment on it. Its attempts at making itsself look big, and making noise, just makes it look adorable. Surely the opposite of what it intended, but at least it didn't get harmed. Everybody wins.

I saw a groundhog somewhat recently that was kind of cute. Little brown guy with short, spiky fur. He let me get pretty close, and when I started walking away, he charged at me a bit. He was adorable.
