an actual decent reply, hi Jacob, yea I can see where you are coming from, that sometimes a few have to suffer for the majority. All is was saying really, did some diseases start to fade out after sanitation was introduced, even in the primitive surgery days they didn't know a lot about gems, where is now they do and far less people die because of this knowledge.

I would actually like to have a proper civil conversation with you slice. You hold views which I don't agree with, but more importantly I don't understand. I don't want to change your view and I'm certainly not interested in a slanging match with you! I just want to understand where you're coming from and why you believe what you believe. That's all!

I wasn't making any point about a few suffering for the majority, although it's an interesting one, I was genuinely interested in to what degree YOU feel your experience has coloured your view of connected but separate issues (vis, why polio all but vanished).

The arrogance of this conspiracy theorist just blows my mind. Plus, what's this nonsense about only wanting to listen to a "natural" doctor. The thing is I have my right to believe in what ever I want, and I will never take shit from anyone, being wrong or right. I have never meet so many people on one forum that are so up themselves, believing they know everything because they cling to science. Science has given us a lot, but it certanitly doesn't know everything, its like anything, its learning all the time, sometimes it makes mistakes, and they learn from that, I feel that science has a lot more to learn with making vac., just like most medications, they all have side affects, and in some cases they are taken of the market, or given to third wold counties.

This is my opioion, I don't have to prove it to anyone, because I never thew it on the table for debate right from the beginning, I my be right or wrong, and you may be right or wrong also, surely you wouldn't say that vac. is 100% safe?. So if you want to continue insulting me, I will ignore your childishness, in fact why continue with what I have said, again its my opinoion, that's all.

And when you continually make the same claims, without providing citation, even when requested, you have to expect those opposing views to evolve into mockery.

Science doesn't know everything and it doesn't claim to. In fact, one of the great things about science is that we're learning more everyday and every new revelation shows how little we still know.

Slightly OT, but the whole concept of the "evilness" of Big Pharma is perhaps more of an American thing, with your private healthcare and TV drug adverts. Apart from things like toothpaste and ibuprofen, we are not targeted directly by these companies in the same way perhaps you are in America. This could explain why Americans are more wary of these big companies?

In England where we have the NHS, you tend to just go with the advice of your doctor. They are there to help you, not make money off you, and have no real reason to start giving you unnecessary drugs/treatments. "Big Pharma" has to go through the NHS where hopefully qualified people will judge whether a drug is suitable for patients and there is evidence to support its use.

Now we have had the whole MMR scare which has resulted in measles breakouts, but the attitude was more that the MMR jab was being pushed because it was cheaper, rather than some evil conspiracy theory type thing. No government is going to spend money on something expensive and useless. We mostly leave the insane stuff up to the Americans, though with the internet it does seem to be creeping in a bit more.
