You do know that there are about 3500 heart transplants performed each year, and they've been performing them since the late 60's.

And not once did any recipient of a donor heart ever start loving the people the donor did. The recipient continus to love the people they did before the heart transplant.

Just as would be expected if the heart is a blood pumping muscle, that does not house emotions.

And to further add to your complete fail, there have been 1000's of people that have had brain injuries that have had personality changes, and have stopped loving people they previously loved before the injury. Yet their heart has remained unchanged.

Just as would be expected if love is a brain function.

So, to sum up.

Heart transplant - no change in love.
Brain injury - personality change, including who the injured loves.

To sum up even further, you're a moron.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

All very interesting considering the situation. Smile
So, let me summarize.
From now on we have to throw in the rubbish bin of history all the knowledge that we have gather in the last million years.
This knowledge was telling us that the brain is the place where the thinking come from and the heart is the place where the feeling come from.
Actually is all a bit more complicated as the heart, the brain and all other factors are controlled by glands or cakras but i don't really want to go deep in this as it would be futile considering the level of consciousness among some people here.
In the meantime it is interesting and funny to see people searching something NON physical like love by using physical tools.
Gee, i open the heart and i can not find love or i open the skull and i can't find the thought. How sad. Smile

Rico, you're not surprising anyone that you can't find a thought in your skull.

As for the heart = love thing, that's no big mystery. It's a perfectly reasonable poetic description of the feeling of love. A tightness in the chest, heart pounding, trouble breathing. But that's the symptom, not the cause; which, as we now know, is the brain. That also explains why to you, love resides in your backside.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
