Meh.. this is the schizzle

So say that a gun discharges evidently by itself, and the projectile hit you. Wouldn't you say you just got shot? Therefore, aiming is not required to shoot; bracing ones' self for the shot is not required to shoot; and if the gun is triggered without pulling the hair trigger: then that is irrelevant as well. Shooting a twelve bore only requires that the explosion triggered something to project from the firearm.

The real gun can't actually fire without any of those things. They are all integral to 'shooting'. If I said I was going to go shooting I'd be talking about the whole experience and not just the explosive moment propelling 'shot'.

Homophone and homonym are colloquially interchangeable... but that would be inaccurate as to the definitions themselves Of course, everyone develops their own meaning and justifications for everything they think... so a word that I think means 'Hug' you might think of as 'Spank', so if I ask you to hug me... then you would think I was asking you to spank me

So every english speaker has their own 'English' (although not usually to such an extreme example as above, though those do happen sometimes)...

Yes but the term is widely used and defined as such as is the norm and how accepted definitions come about. If it was so new or rarely used then I'd agree with anyone considering the words unimportant as in uniquely used.

Well, a spank is a slap, which would be a hit, which is to "bring one's hand or a tool or weapon into contact with (someone or something) quickly and forcefully"... so a spank would imply that there was a distance of 'non-contact', or else one could not bring it into contact, for it would already be in contact
