I don't get it. Looks like a couple beat up old tennis shoes.

What faces? What landscape?

Well, if I walked up to you and gave you a hug with my two good arms and told you that I was really a one-armed person born with an extra arm...

If I walked around scratching at the middle of my head telling everyone I should actually have a third eye and was simply born without one...

Ok, admittedly I am not sure how to even proceed with this conversation.

Quote:When people say "I'm honest and value honesty" they are often lying, deluded or just ignorant. What they mean is "I'm blunt, insensitive and lack empathy". EVERYONE lies, about once every ten minutes,it's only a matter of degree.

Nice straw man Padraic,

You are the model of empathy and your ebullient personality washes over these forums bringing rays of sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns! /sarcasm I didn't say that I never lie, merely that I try to be honest at all times. Tongue

You appear to be constructing a strawman, i.e. setting up a couple of bad examples in order to show that another example (although completely unrelated) is wrong.

Transgenderism has nothing to do with the body per se. It's more of an attitude of the mind than anything. A person born in a male body exhibits a female persona, to the point that they feel like a female trapped in a male body. It's been documented on many occasions.

It even has a scientific explanation. Quoting from Wikipedia:
Wikipedia Wrote:Their tests showed that the volume of the central subdivision of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BSTc), a brain area that is essential for sexual behaviour, is larger in men than in women. A female-sized BSTc was found in male-to-female transsexuals. The size of the BSTc was not influenced by sex hormones in adulthood and was independent of sexual orientation. Their study was the first to show a female brain structure in genetically male transsexuals and supports the hypothesis that gender identity develops as a result of an interaction between the developing brain and sex hormones.

Adrian,

Those were abortive attempts at responding to Sae because I saw them the same way as you do... strawmen with nothing to do with the subject, hence my statement, "Ok, admittedly I am not sure how to even proceed with this conversation." They were thoughts I had, but I understood after writing them, that they fail to explain anything relevent. Thanks for the link, I'll read it when I get home.

I thought this thread was about a sequel or remake to the excellent 80's action film Commando.

Sad

Nope... it's about how my entire family denies evolution (I'm actually not sure if this was mentioned in this thread... but it is hilarious and sad at the same time...) and how my parents and sister are willing to chance my sister's life in a realistically dangerous activity... just so that my sister can have a bit of fun? Huh

Then it became a thread about my appearance... Huh Which was kinda weird... Tongue

I never heard of Commando before, but i'll check for it on Netflix nonetheless Smile

Neighborhood? It isn't that this is a particularly violent neighborhood... but more that people usually can't see well in the dark. This all took place in rural areas around Kasilof, AK... aka: around people quite used to dealing with bears, moose, burglars, etc... and as such many of the people here are armed and fairly quick to defend their property .

The Commando 2009 'youth group' snuck around peoples houses in the darkness of early night (quite dark here in winter)... wearing dark fatigues and traveling in very small groups...

And all just to deliver dinner to poor people without even telling them what was going on...? I think it is pretty self evident why it was dangerous... but maybe that's because I live here? Thinking
