Meh, I could care less about shit like this. That's not because I'm not American, I just think the whole political system is way more fucked up than one relatively minor thing like you brought up. I think if we are to 'change the world' as a species, we need some kind of revolution. Something big certainly needs to happen to have the kind of change you are talking about. In my humble opinion though, the world is filled with way too many stupid people for us to really do anything to 'save ourselves'. I don't mean that in an offensive way, but we as a species need some kind of massive idealogical shift if we are to change the current path we are walking down.

My 2 cents.

Just a quick side note I only called it save the world due to I had to use it for an assignment and it had to have the words save and world in the title. I totally agree when you guys say we can save the world. Anyway thanks for the feedback! Love the comments so far! Keep it up!

I find that rather ironic, as it often means that the people most qualified for office can not run. Infact if you look at it statistically, the more a person is educated the more secular they are, that is why some only 60% of university graduates believe in a god and of those far fewer are fundie's when compared to the general public. In fact I do not even understand why those statutes are there given the attitudes held by the founders

The best weapon against theism is prosperity. It's doable, although not inevitable, that there will be few truly poor countries left in twenty years. It's the main reason UN middle-of-the-road estimates have global population peaking around 2050 and slowly declining for centuries thereafter: prosperity is also the best weapon against overpopulation.

Those requirement are unConstitutional, however, to get them removed from State constitutions requires the usual amendment process. Such a requirement was overturned in SC in the nineties (my esteemed legislature took their case to prevent an atheist from becoming a notary public all the way to the state Supreme Court), but the requirement for belief in God still appears in the State constitution.

The world is screwed as religion will ultimately lead to our destruction. The Earth will be fine for about 5 billion more years until the sun burns out and destroys everything in its path.
