Question for transexuals

By the way, I'm genderqueer and I'm alright with whatever gender words you choose to describe me.

I'm not genderqueer (solidly girl, thank you very much), but otherwise, I'm the same. I'm more concerned with the context someone uses. I'd rather someone call me a shemale while at least trying to be respectful than for someone to call me a transsexual and try to be disrespectful with it.

So I have a question and I hope it's not offensive. If you're MtF trans do you still have to go in for prostate exams? And do still have to check for male related cancers? Question goes for FtM as well.

Not at all offended.

I still have a prostate gland. However, the chemical that causes the great majority of the problems with the prostate is testosterone and I have very little of that. As for other "male relted cancers," the only one I can really think of would be testicular cancer and same story; testosterone contributes to testicular cancer and I don't have very much testosterone. Although, ironically, there's a part of me that really wishes I would get testicular cancer, but that's another story.

I don't even notice trans people. I could care less what gender you want to call yourself. It's none of my business. Unless you're sexy. There are some damn sexy trans people.

I'm confused on why a female would want to get rid of her clitoris for a penis though. This thing is awesome I'd never part ways with it.

It's still more or less a male dominated world. There are advantages to looking like a man, as far as what jobs you can get, how much money you can get, and if some people take you seriously instead of judging you for your breast size.

Because the treatment for testicular cancer is removing the cancerous testicle and I want those things gone anyway. Having cancer would mean that insurance would probably get rid of them for me.

My boyfriend, who is FtM, has had similar thoughts about breast cancer.
