I have a question, how the fuck do these people get away with fraud?

Stupid people. That was...rhetorical, right? Never underestimate stupid people. If anyone actually believed in the "gay demon exorcism" from a video posted in a another thread, I wouldn't be surprised that people believe in this stuff. I've lost enough faith in humanity that these cons no longer shock me...

Oh, I love seeing Randi at his peak! The Geller/Popoff ones are classics. I've not seen that astrologer one before, though.

As for how they get away with it, well I think the Barnum principle just about covers it. As long as there are people who actively want to be conned, there will be someone only too happy to relieve them of their cash.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

For me, these people should have to put in a disclaimer whenever they conduct their shows/readings or whatever. It's simply not right that they are conning people, even if their customers are dumb enough to believe this shit. I think the government should actually get involved, this is nothing other than blatant fraud IMO. They're actively telling people they can contact their dead relatives and they do so with a straight face, these people are seriously fucking low.
