NO NO NO. Seriously JL ask yourself this. A psychopath has broken into your house. He has your mother and father tied up, he points a gun at your head hands you a knife and tells you to slit their throats. Now, do you have a choice? If you did do it, would you say that you chose to slit your parents throats?

False dichotomy. I could, and have, chosen neither.

Do you understand metaphor, JL1? Because it seems as if you don't. No, god doesn't literally have a gun to anyone's head, but it's implied. Saying I am free to choose, but then saying that there are consequences if I choose the wrong thing is the height of stupidity. It is just like someone asking you a question with a gun to your head.

Sorry but you can't choose neither. Your soul has to go somewhere. Either you accept God's gift, or choose to be with his exact opposite, Satan.
And I understand metaphor. The thing is God is giving you an amazing choice, yes the other option may be bad, but no one needs to choose it. Just choice Jesus! It's that simple!

Him losing his money would be bad. Accepting Jesus into your heart is good.

You know, repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it factual.

In other words, if they exercise their free will, they suffer for it. Not only that, but god will not even be man (or god) enough to admit that he is punishing them, preferring to play a childish game of "stop condemning yourself! Stop condemning yourself!"

If you forsake free will and behave like a puppet, you get into heaven, where you must presumably continue to behave like a puppet for the rest of eternity. Because if you exercise the 'gift' of free will in heaven, I can only imagine that god will interpret that as "choosing hell" and send you on your not-so-merry way. And just to rub it in, as you are being dragged away he'll mockingly call out "why are you choosing to leave? Don't you want to be in heaven with us?"

God is really creepy.

Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. ACCEPTING JESUS IS A GOOD THING. SLITTING YOUR PARENT'S THROAT IS A BAD THING. The problem with these metaphors is that your using bad things that people are letting you choose, God let's you choose eternal peace and glory.

So you would consider it a choice to slit your parents throats when their is a gun pointed at your head? You chose to slit your parents throats?

When someone accepts Jesus into their hearts, they want to do what he tells them to because they have his goodness in their hearts, and they known it's the right thing.

God isn't doing anything equivalent to that. If you choose not to follow him, you just go on with your life until it's over.

And when someone uses his god-given "ultimate gift" of free will and does not accept Jesus into his heart, he is hell-bound. Because free will only pays off if you don't use it freely.
