It was the B-side of an album I bought many years ago and my first exposure to Prince Louis Ferdinand von Hohenzollern. He was a highly regarded pianist and Beethoven dedicated his 3d Piano Concerto to him.
But Louis was a nephew of Frederick the Great and also a Prussian general. In 1806 his small command recklessly tried to stop the entire French Vth Corps at Saalfeld. Louis Ferdinand was killed after refusing a demand to surrender. What a loss of a gifted musician...if not a great general.
