Occam's Razor anyone?
Looks like it kept flying on autopilot for quite some time after the last communication. So explosive decompression is likely ruled out. All I can think is depressurization like in
Payne Stewart's death. How that could possibly happen on a bigass Boeing 777 I got no clue.

Who would program the autopilot to fly to the middle of the ocean?

Someone who could also instantly depressurize the cabin?

The best speculation I read, though I forget the exact source, was one of a cockpit electrical fire which took out communications first. Then, while the pilots were pulling breakers to remove the ignition source energy and accidentally shutting down the transponder, they succumbed to toxic combustion gasses. The passengers were lost to the toxic atmosphere next. The autopilot ran the plane out of fuel and it crashed.
The two minute turn back toward the originating airport could have been executed by the pilots before they succumbed.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

But that doesn't explain why the plane was flown -- by pilot and not autopilot -- to an altitude of 45,000 feet, which exceeds this aircraft's "safe" altitude and likely resulted in the deaths of all passengers and/or crew (except those who had sufficient oxygen), and it doesn't explain why the plane then flew at an altitude of 12,000 feet for a time, which appears to have been a maneuver intended to elude radar. The plane then had to have climbed back to an altitude of around 35,000 feet in order to have gone as far as it did with available fuel to crash in the Indian Ocean. All that indicates -- to me, anyway -- a knowledgeable pilot at the controls.
