Howeer I have no respect for people like for example; the members of PETA. Because they often treat other human beings the way, they don't want animals to be treated.
I hope it is the case that no one in the world respects the members of PETA.

You would be surprised, that there are people who do respect the members of PETA.

Quote:Arson, Cracked Testicles, and Internet Death Threats: How Animal Rights Extremists Are Learning From the People Who Murdered George Tiller

Jordan Heller 1/16/13 4:30pm

"We will...strap you into a monkey restraining device and use industrial pliers to crack your testicles like walnuts." That was the simple message that medical researcher Dr. Donal O'Leary received in October 2011.

The note, which threatened to kidnap O'Leary and went on to reference myriad tortures including dismemberment, disembowelment, Drano and napalm, was published on Negotiation Is Over (NIO), a website that acts as a one-stop shop for animal rights extremists looking to gather intelligence on potential targets. In addition to labeling O'Leary—a professor at Detroit's Wayne State University whose studies on congestive heart failure involve experiments on rodents and occasionally dogs—a sadistic animal torturer, it published his photo and home address.

In an email to O'Leary alerting him of the post, Camille Marino, who until last month ran NIO out of her home in Wildwood, Fla., told the professor that some of her "associates" would be paying him a visit to take pictures of his home.

"Then you can join ‘NIO's most wanted,'" she wrote. "I hope you die a slow and painful death."

That is some biblical old testament justice right there!

I'm not a vegan. In fact I'm not even a vegetarian. But I think its important to differentiate between veganism and vegan diet. The meat industry is responsible for enormous resource waste and from what I've seen, it is also a large contributor to the emission of greenhouse gases due to various reasons. I think it is highly likely that eating vegan could contribute to preventing this.
Veganism seems to be another matter. It is some kind of quasi-religious nonsense, for the most part it seems. 'Veganists' are difficult to discuss with, because they seem to be willing to blurt out any kind of half-truth or misinterpreted data. Many of them are clearly driven by misguided morals. The people mentioned in the article seem to be a good example of this.

WHAT? I hope something you said will tell me why this makes sense.

Then you are correct.

Quote:Veganism seems to be another matter.
WHAT? Nope. Veganism and eating vegan are the same exact thing.

Off topic but I read a report a while back in the news conducted on the number of native song birds killed needlessly by cats in the UK and it numbered in the hundreds of millions over a given period.

People are irresponsible when they don't get their animals neutered.

Sorry, please carry on:

No worries Fidel. This link actually came up via a Hunting site a friend of mine is involved in. Basically showing the hypocrisy of so called "Greens/ Vegetarians/ Vegans" who seem to not like anything that they don't have a stake in but are quite happy to inconvenience anyone else who may have a differing outlook/ lifestyle.

It does sound like the affectations of the vehemently religious the way some people monopolise the media espousing their view of how terrible "ugly meat eaters" are and how kind they are that they will go and kill, maim, threaten and cause general mayhem on behalf of animals against their chosen prey.

pathetic really. Dodgy
Certainly doesn't engender any sympathy to their cause and in fact is just the thing that is turning people away from the likes of PETA.

Hi Raeven

How's the spring treating you and the farm?

I base this on the fact that I have a friend who says she eats vegan just because of health reasons. She said to me once something along the lines of 'you can eat vegan without believing in what those silly hippies think'.
Maybe I spoke too soon. I have to confess my knowledge of this particular matter is rather superficial. But the impact of the meat industry on the environment and the like is something I am pretty certain about.

Still true that veganism and eating vegan are exactly the same thing.

According to Google, the definition of veganism is this:
Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, as well as following an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals. A follower of veganism is known as a vegan.
Basically, being vegan entails eating vegan.

I guess it also means abstaining from the use of animal products. Is that the thing you think means it is possible that "veganism =/= eating vegan"?

Whatever, fuck this conversation. Done with it.

Wait, I understand now.

"veganism =/= eating vegan" definitely does not make sense. WHEW.

You know, given what happened with the Nuremberg files, I can't imagine this site will last long. And with the actual content of the threats being more vivid than even the Nuremberg Files, there's no way the author won't spend time in jail.
