A brief lecture about evolution
This is for the dolts here that do not understand evolution. I'm going to try to make this as simple as possible.

Evolution is the process by which one species of animal transitions into another, very gradually in most cases. It works based on copying error caused in the genetic code during the reproduction of organisms, and is most prevalent in organisms that reproduce sexually as sexual reproduction forces the merging of genetic from a male and female member of the same species. These errors can have a massive range of effects varying from you being half a inch taller then your father, to severe auto immune diseases. These changes are basically filtered by the environment in which the organism lives, for example a error or mutation that causes a animal to be hairier would be advantagious in a cold climate like Canada, but disadvantageous in a hot climate like Africa.
A good way to visualize evolution is like the grayscale when setting the contrast on a TV you can see white and you can see black, but can you tell me where black becomes white? No but you can see a steady line of shades transitioning from white to black. evolution is much the same it goes from white to black to red to blue ad infinitum. There are no final forms, every form is in its own way transitional. What is different about what is refereed to colloquially as a transitional form often include features from multiple families or orders.

Now many may question evolution because it is unobservable, this is patently false.Yes it does often take millions of years too work (Except in times of punctuated equilibrium) We have present observation and experimental evidence for it, so I will not even go in depth on the genetic and fossil evidence here. We have William Dillinger's experiments from the late Victorian era, We have the pod mrcaru population of Italian wall lizards and three toed skinks in the Australia starting to birth live young. And you can just tell that the people who really need to see this either won't bother to read it, or won't take the time to understand it, not because it's untrue, but because it clashes with what they already believe. Rolleyes

The creationist will now:
1. Go to a website that has a counter argument,
2. Accept any counter-argument no matter how poorly constructed and lacking in evidence.

You see this time and again. I gave up long ago trying to explain science to these people. They just do not care. After about the 4th time you hear them talk about entropy without actually having any clue what entropy is, you realise the whole thing is pointless.

I once met a creationist, which is pretty rare here. He was telling me that he was explaining evolution to his son, and why it could not possibly work. He explained it like this:

1. Take some lego bricks
2. Throw them in the air
3. They don't all fall down and form a person, even if repeated a thousand times.
4. Therefore evolution isn't true.

My reply was that actually if you kept repeating that and didn't undo any stuck bricks, then gradually bricks would stick together and most likely form something, though probably not human shaped. This didn't fit in with the narrative, so he changed the subject.

Experimentation is easy when you don't actually run the experiment, and just imagine what happens.


I give credit to the guy though, he genuinely believed all the wacky stuff he came out with. He lost his job after trying to diagnose a sick person at work using his medical knowledge, which came exclusively from youtube conspiracy videos.

Unfortunately this is the truth. They make themselves out to be such idiots, which can easily be changed if they are just prepared to take the time to learn something outside of their biblical bubble.

Are you sure? Some atheists say that evolution is any change in the frequency of alleles within a gene pool from one generation to the next. No change in species necessary.

Yes that is the scientific definition, and I never said that a change in species was necessary but rather that evolution is process by which species change. I was merely trying to keep it simple.

Some atheist and some theist say that too..

Any theist with half a brain knows the young earthers have it wrong. There lots of intelligent Christians out there and some are even scientists that study evolution.
