More moderation?

More moderation?
I think this forum could use a little bit more moderation. I know you have to have a thick skin on the internet sometimes, but a certain poster who's name I will not mention here has insulted me personally on several occasions. He does this for no apparent reason. A couple of times, his insults have been so severe that if those things had been said to me IRL, there would be serious trouble.
I'm not going to make any more fuzz about this individual. I've blocked him and that's the end of that story.
It seems a lot of people on this forum are young adults, and things are bound to get a little rowdy sometimes with a crowd like that. Offensive and/or disturbing posts don't bother me much, as long as they are not targeted at someone specific. But personal insults and attacks is something I simply cannot tolerate. Mostly the mods here do a good job of policing the forums, but this kind of thing, is it really acceptable?
I know that the mods seem to not accept suicide threats and the like, which I think is a very good thing.

You could report the individual.

Pretty much this. We act on reported posts - I don't recall seeing any reports of this nature, and as I (and probably the other moderators) do not read every post in every thread, I am not aware of what Sven is talking about (or who).

Sorry Sven. I've observed 'rat-packing' and never like seeing it. But too much moderation would make the place insipid. Please do report it to mods and see what can be done. Hopefully that will take care of it. Beyond that, try to remember a time when you were young and pulled the wings off of bugs (or whatever) to put it in perspective. If you were a theist you could pray for them. Otherwise just report and ignore.

I can only echo CD's sentiments. If you feel that you have been wronged without any of the staff noticing, we ask you to make use of the report button (one report is enough) or send any of us mods a PM with quotes. We try to moderate with as little intervention as possible, but we do not tolerate bullying, persecution, harassing and trolling. But as mentioned, we might not be aware of all twists and turns that happens in all the threads. So, if you could be so kind as to give us on the staff the specifics, we'll try to sort things out asap.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Meh. It's the internet. Don't take it so seriously.

More? Really? This is literally the most strict non-religious forum I have ever been on.

I was a mod on an atheist forum that, at the time, wouldn't even ban anyone almost. You had to be REALLY bad for a long time to get banned. All I did as a mod was fix formatting in posts. Usually when people couldn't seem to imbed videos correctly.
