Seems unlikely Smile

pi^pi^pi sure isn't...

I tried putting it into my calculator...

For three pi-s, you get a number around 10^18, simple pocket calculators probably don't do that, but advanced programmable ones might... For four pi-s however, you get pi to the power of that number, i.e. roughly 10^18 digits. You'd need an absurd amount of memory just to store the result, let alone do the calculation.

Of the top of my head... 3^3 is 27.
27^3 is (ok...calculator....) 19683... So pi^pi^pi should be close to this...around 20k (actually, it's closer to 80k, same order of magnitude)...
Just add one more power of pi.... Shouldn't require anything computationally larger than a 64 bit floating point number.

Hehe, yes, ((3^3)^3)^3 isn't very big Smile

3^(3^(3^3)) on the other hand....

It doesn't seem very likely that it's a natural number. It also doesn't seem likely that it's solvable especially given we can only use approximations of pi.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

A numerical approximation is enough to show that it *isn't* an integer, right? My guess is it will probably be shown to not be an integer using some general number theoretic proof without having to calculate it explicitely (the same way it is proven that pi itself isn't a rational number)
