There was no before the big bang. Time As we know it started at the big bang. So before that the universe still existed just in a different state.

You just said universe in a different state existed before that. So there is a before that obviously. U can keep thinking like this won't reach an end. Until you take out something to be eternal.

Yes there may have been a "before" the big bang, even though time we understand it did not exist. We know now that this universe in its current will suffer a cold death which it will last forever

Its as simple as that.

Humans haven't always agreed on the concept of God being the creator of our physical universe.

The Gnostics

When it comes to our physical universe, however -

So where does that leave the creator God of the Old Testament? The Marcionites had an interesting point of view.

What is a god? Maybe it all depends on which religion one looks at for a definition.

All I am asking you to do is use logic. Something must be eternal in the equation. Otherwise nothing would make sense.

Why? You haven't explained why you think something eternal "must" do anything, let alone demonstrated it. You've just made an assertion. Anyone can do that.
