Do you love humanity?

I would not even go so far as to infer respect toward most of humanity, either. Respect, after all, is earned, and most of them could not earn it to save their lives.

No. I want to respect each individuals autonomy and potential, but in the grand scheme of things I wish there were many fewer of us. A Petri dish over run with humanity is not my vision of a beautiful planet.

I don't even know most people I work with well enough to say if I love them or not but I generally do have loving feelings towards them I suppose.
But that's just the people I work with I don't even know most people in my area of town, nevermind the full town, or country. So if I said I loved most of humanity in the world not only would it not be true but it couldn't be true.

How much love I have for someone Isn't effected usually by what they believe in though, I still really like a girl I went out with who believed in mermaids.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Within the context of the question, we of course don't love or even trust most human beings around us.
Undecided

However, when it comes to Humanity as a whole? Of course we should love ourselves.

Earth is the perfect planet for us to thrive in.
We are at the top of the food chain; we can multiply and thrive on a world where we don't have to be concerned about any particular predators.
We ourselves are our own predators, yet that too is very fortunate; since we know how our own brains and bodies work, we can easily protect ourselves from ourselves.

We breath comfortably underneath an atmosphere which shields us from meteorites.

We have everything we need here, water, minerals, lush forests with all kinds of food, and animals to keep us company.
We are incredibly fortunate to be here.

Despite all of our imperfections, we are still a fairly intelligent species.
Combining our intellect with the resources available to us, we construct impressive devices and equipment to further boost our societies.

Despite natural disasters wiping out thousands daily, and wars plaguing history, we as a species recover fairly quickly.

Our intense desire to improve the peace of this Earth drives us to do everything we can to uplift others and support our families in the direst of times.
Overall, we're not perfect, but our own imperfections are no good excuse to hate ourselves.

We as a species are positively minded. Even though we are aware of both natural disasters and man-made disasters happening all around us, we still bother to send ourselves and our children outside; we still endanger ourselves in the open air.

Our parents still bother to give birth to us and raise us, despite everything that is going on.

Why? Because our brains are wired to focus mainly on what we need to do in order to benefit ourselves. Our brains naturally focus on what needs to be done, not on all of the bad things happening throughout the world.

Outside influences can of course mess up our way of thinking, but whatever mindsets we may develop throughout our lives, we are born naturally positive.

I think I have loved animals, because I respect them more than humans, but even of that I am not quite certain.

I genuinely believe that those who claim to love of all humanity are full of shit, because how can one love a complete stranger that one has never met or even been intimate with on some level?
Yeah, animals are more predictable than humans.

Have you ever felt strange simply being alive?

Wink

It's possible to love others simply because they're human. Some personality types are very outgoing; they focus more on the positive, rather than the negative. These persons find it easy to love others in the basic sense of the term.

Even though you might not be friends with a stranger, you can still admire him/her in a way where you're genuinely fond of him/her.

I hate when people say this. We are smart relatively to everything else on this planet, but we are still a dumb species. What's the name of that important invention that some guy invented a long time ago? Oh yeah....the wheel. Invented thousands of years ago and it's still the most prevalent invention in our history. If the ridge headed neanderthal that invented the wheel was still alive today, he'd be the richest motherfucker on the planet, and he'd also still be trying to fuck rocks.

We chose shoelaces over velcro. Because I was so tired of tripping on my untied velcro, or having to take the time to tie my velcro. All because "velcro looks weird dude."

Seriously, 200 years ago people were throwing shit from buckets out house windows, intelligent society doesn't come a couple hundred years after that.

The Biblical God doesn't love everyone so if a person did love everyone he would be more loving than the Biblical God entity.

Currently there is over 7,165,000,000 people. So if a person loved 3,582,500,001 he would love most humans on Earth and fulfill the requirements for your question.

Not sure love is the right word but I like the species as a whole, our history and achievements are something to be proud of.
