Christian humility

I always here Christians claim they are humble, especially the the Christians here, but yet I have rarely if ever seen most of them carry themselves in a humble manner in debates and discussions here. A classic example is one member that prayed for half the forum to catch aids so that we be like him
I constantly see Christians that are so chalked full of haughtness and arrogance. I have yet to see one admit to being wrong on a issue and constantly see them use the same arguments again and again, even after they have been shown how these arguments are wrong.
Furthermore many used dishonest tactics such as quote mining sources or in some cases using source that have been shown to be lying. Some of them also perpetuate this myth that if you dont use "bad" words your not being rude, while they make condescending posts about how they are better because they have christ. /rant

I don't think this has anything to do with religion, but fanaticism.

Fanatics hold onto a simplistic world view and they are incredibly insecure. When it is challenged, they resort to rudeness, threats, and insults. It does not matter if a person is religious or not.

Non-religious can resort to insults, religious can resort to threats of hell and the like. I have encountered it with fundamentalist Christians who will ignore all appeals to reason that I am just going to hell for not sharing their view. Non-religious, if they are fanatics, will tell me I am stupid for believing in a bearded man that lives in the clouds and that my faith is nothing more than fairy tales.

Difference being that the latter has at least some semblance of truth.

Also, the latter will not try and kill you for believing differently to them.

I've heard this before, I hate to chime in but at least to my knowledge most atheists dislike and disbelief in Christianity is not that they know too little, but they know too much. They know MORE than the average Christian, hence the reason they turn away from it.

Christians have their lives through grace (unmerited love), because a high price was payed for us, we are to be a grateful people, not feeling we're special. Being saved by grace should be a humbling experience.

Then when I continue reading I saw his whining about evolution and I was gonna lecture him about change.
Then with the geocentric universe question I was gonna explain to him about how christian thinks that the world revolves around them.

But then when he mentioned the witch hunting, homophobic, cruelty passages that I mentioned and said that there was nothing wrong with those verses I was like: whoa, Whoa WHOA….WHAT?
I was gonnna start insulting that douchebag and said the minute I get home I'm gonna yell his ass for that. Because what the hell is that? Nothing wrong with Homophobia? Nothing wrong with qualifying other cultures as evil? Nothing wong with misogyny?
