The last time someone named Fidel got any power those already in power ended up against a wall . . .

I wish to be a member of our staff...
if just to partake in what fun they have.

I'm guessing late entries are not entitled to such delights?

In my experience, late entries are the best.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'm not questioning whether I'd be the most awesome person in the room (I would be)... I'm asking if there's any point to providing you children with my illustrious presence. Sleepy

What presence? You've decided you have better things to do than talk with the lesser beings here.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

True. It probably has to do with boredom. I'm assuming the staff must have more fun, since they seem to at least kind of stick around... hence my interest in becoming the staff by which the people channel the greatness they wish they could have.

Y'all can just call me "Queen Alice"... come on: have a heart.

Yeah, no. We can't leave. Doors are locked on the outside.

Shit, I don't think I was supposed to say that.

Congrats Fidel! For the record, I personally nominated you in my head long ago Wink

Why do I feel like smoking a cigar?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

If you let me in... the doors open for just a moment.

Not that I'd really need to open the door, but it's for the effect, yknow?
