Mission Accomplished!
The worst idea in modern history takes yet another hit.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-27778112

Quote:Iraq militants seize second city of Mosul

Quote:Prime Minister Nouri Maliki, who is struggling to form a government in the wake of the April elections, has vowed to drive the ISIS "terrorists" out of mainly-Sunni Mosul in short order.

He is unlikely to succeed soon. He made similar vows when Sunni militants took over Falluja, west of Baghdad, in January, and they are still there.

It is not yet clear whether it is only ISIS involved in the Mosul takeover. In Falluja and its province, Anbar, Mr Maliki has clearly alienated many Sunni tribesmen and others, creating fertile soil for the radicals.

Yes, Iraq is turning into an Islamic paradise, with Afghanistan to follow.

But hey, at least Saddam is gone! And those Halliburton stock options? Don't even ask...

Hell of a job we did, eh? I wonder how well we'll "train" the Afghans?

Follow up - and to be expected.

Quote:The insurgent fighters who routed the Iraqi army out of Mosul on Tuesday did not just capture much of Iraq’s second-largest city. They also gained a windfall of arms, munitions and equipment abandoned by the soldiers as they fled — arms that were supplied by the United States and intended to give the troops an edge over the insurgents.

The problem is not a new one, but it looms larger now that the United States is shifting its counterterrorism strategy away from using American armed forces directly, and toward relying on allied or indigenous troops and security forces supplied and trained by the United States. President Obama proposed last week that a $5 billion fund be set up to finance such efforts.

Yeah, and Obama almost made the same blunder by wading into Syria to topple Assad.

When are we going to learn we are not blessed in the arab world, and bloody murderous dictators are the friends we need and the only friends we can ever have there?

Key word there is "almost."

Thank goodness he didn't listen to those republicunt assholes, Graham and McCain.

If Hilary was president, we would have toppled the man who kept al Qaeda out of Syria, and our own asses would be in Syria to be available for the al Qaeda to hand back to us.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the best thing we can do is get rid of our dependence on oil, stop sending them billions of dollars each year and wall off the Middle East.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Maliki is the reason we are not still there. He refuse to sign the agreement to keep US Troops there. He is now begging for USA to come back.

Training Afghanis.

These people are very very very very uneducated.
