RE: Roguelikes
Should have bumped the walls. One of them would have turned into a door.

I tried that. Nothing happened. It was really weird.

RE: Roguelikes
I absolutely LOVE rogue likes. I wish they had a big budget rogue like. I can only play the one's with tiles though. I just can't do the ascii thing, and reading everything.

Of course I've played Faster Than Light, but I'm not sure if you can/should call that a rogue like. It presents itself like one, but not nearly as cool as the other few I've tried.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Oh man. This was my first rogue like. It's brutal. I'll admit I'm not good AT ALL. There's tiles on this which is why I play it, and you can also use the old rogue like console view. Lots of Species to choose from, and a good bit of classes. You should definitely check it out if you've never played it, and tell me what you think. I like to play as Demonspawn which acquires demonic mutations every few or so levels, or the Octopod which can wear 8 rings! Either those two, or another melee class that presents an easier play through for me. There's also a wizard mode where you can spawn stuff into the game, and make your characters stats crazy, or just choose not to die when you're killed. I only tried it once, because I could never really get but 4 levels in! Man...it just keeps going, and going, and going... I'll probably never beat this game. The overall goal is to collect the orbs of zot. DEFINITELY check this one out!

Project Zomboid I would like to try it, but don't have the funds to buy it. It's still being developed anyways.

Rogue Survivor It's another zombie roguelike. I think it's still in developement. Well I think it's finished. I'm not sure. I know he's working on Rogue Survivor II so I assume it's finished, or maybe he scrapped it? Either way it's pretty decent. Although the level layout pretty much stays the same, just different buildings, and supply's. Not nearly as good as Duengon Crawl. Still worth checking out though. You have a sleep meter, sanity, hunger, and a few others I'm not sure. Can't remember as I haven't played it in a while. It is worth checking out though. You can play as a zombie too, but never cared to much to check it out as it basically kills most of the aspect of the game, and is halfhearted in my opinion.

I haven't played any other ones that I remember besides those. Like I said I only like the ones with tiles.

I downloade T.O.M.E. yesterday (tales of maj'eyal) it's pretty cool. I think I'm going to like it more than Duengon Crawl. I only played the first few levels, so I didn't get that much hand on time with it. Pretty noob friendly though.

UNREAL WORLD. I'm loving this one so far. Definitely going to be my favorite. Basically survive any way you can. Very deep. The controls take a while to learn, but it's not that hard. I survived one winter so far, and I'm a fisherman. luckily haven't had any dangerous encounters yet. I started as an islander on an island. I seem to not be able to make a paddle (finally made a raft) to be able to get off the island. I did make a sesta though to push my raft into the shallow water. Definitely give this game a try.

Right now I'm playing a little Roguelike on Ubuntu called Powder. It's fun, but so far I haven't had anything interesting happen to me like I did in NetHack.

I was playing a (slightly) graphic-improved version of Nethack that was pretty great. It wasn't super-great graphics, but it was nice not having to remember which letters of the alphabet will instantly kill you! Smile
