Just goes to show that language is dynamic.

I remember the olden times when you could smoke on commercial airplanes and nobody (white) got mad at the N word.
Notice I didn't say they were the good old days.
It's really hard to explain other times to people who didn't live them.
They were.....different.

Here's the thing, apparently, they intended it as a pun on "fukubukuro," Japanese for "Lucky bags." It's a New Year's tradition in Japan; they put overstock into grab bags and sell them at a discount.
