This is a sure signal that you're being scammed. They shouldn't care what type of card you use - prepaid cards have limited recourse to fraudulent charges.

Yep it is. ---- But then anyone calling offering to fix anything for you, if you didn't call them first is either an out and out scam or a really overpriced service.
