There's an MMO called Town of Salem where you can do this. I'm Chad32 over there. If you really want to play by post here, I'll join. May I pick my role?

Ok you need like about 14 ish players. More is fine, but too many less it's hard to balance.
So basically all of your players are residents of whatever made up town. 10 will townies and 4 will be mafia. Each townie is on his or her own at the beginning. They have to try to form alliances to figure out who the mafia are and lynch them. Each day everyone can make a vote and whoever has the most votes is lynched. The mafia start out already knowing each other. Each night they can try to kill a townie. This might be a better explanation than mine. http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide
Town of Salem does fifteen, so 14ish seems good. Though it has three mafia and a serial killer.
I guess we need to decide what roles there are, because there can be a lot.

I've been to a few sites where the do it but they're generally too slow for me and I prefer to play with people I at least sort of know so I can feel comfortable contacting them about the game. I've only ever played at The Thinking Atheist forum, but there it's just whoever mods the game picks the roles. Some people tell them ahead of time and some don't. I think it's fun when you don't know. It makes the game harder.
Me neither, but I'd still like to do it. :p Basically you list the roles, and we PM to you what we want. Then we just keep our roles a secret. First come first turn. I assume even if we don't pick our roles, you'll PM what we got anyway. This wouldn't be much different.
