Death of a loved pet always hits you harder than you think it will.
Humans and some animals do have empathy.
I think its good that you are discussing having your pet put down, for humanitarian reasons.
At present I too have cancer and at some point when the pain becomes too unbearable I wish I could have the option of being put down.
But our crazy religious dominated law system forbids anyone helping a loved one to die - assisted suicide.
I have no fear of death but does it really have to be dragged out to the last minute.
Its something everyone should think about as one in four of us will get cancer in our lifetime although its not always the cause of our death.

RE: CANCER.... :-(
An old friend of mine died from cancer maybe 2 weeks ago. We went to grade school together. She was 25 and left behind a husband and 2 young boys. Diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma in February. Things were just starting to look up for her. The doctors were saying hope was a real thing. Then one night she just died. I've been thinking about that a lot this last week. She was just a few months older than I am. Well anyways, since everyone is talking about cancer I felt compelled to share.

Ps. My condolences to OP. I'm sure Sir Thomas lived a good life. When you're ready, say goodbye to him and end his suffering. It's the kindest thing to do if he's in pain.

If it made him feel better to read out, then sure. But he doesn't respond and just turns around and makes more and more posts. I'm starting to feel inundated with atheist0443 whimsy spam. And these sad ones are the worst. Like, human or not: We aren't a psychology forum.

If he doesn't respond, put him on ignore.

You should have him put down. It sucks, and it's really, really sad, but if he's that sick, it's the best thing for him.

I'm sorry Sad

Yeah, put him out of his misery. Sounds cold, but if he's not going to survive there's no use prolonging the pain he's likely in.
