Perfection!

RE: Perfection!
I think we know what you mean Evie, but that's not what you actually say most times.

Many times you've used the "I know of no evidence" line to dismiss considering an idea.

Maybe EvF can feel a small bit of the frustration theists feel when trying to speak to armies of atheists well versed in the arts of debate.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

That's the opposite of dismissing considering it. It's saying "I'm prepared to consider it, just provide some evidence."

I know of no evidence at least so far.

That's nuts - you're not refusing to consider it before you get evidence, you are prepared to consider it... just provide some evidence.

I know you'll take this nicely, so...

RE: Perfection!
No I consider God first of course.... but then, that's how I'm considering Him in practice - by asking for evidence.

It's indeed possible for God to exist without any evidence at all, but I won't believe without evidence because that would be choosing to believe something improbable on no logical basis - which is delusional.

RE: Perfection!
So you will consider God but you will only consider the evidence right?

That's still nuts.

It's not nuts because it's the alternative to believing on evidence - not believing on evidence, believing 'on faith' - that's nuts.

It's nuts because you're directly contradicting yourself Evie.

You can have any colour as long as it's black.

Ok, so I subscibed to this thread and have to read such things as: " believing without seeing is like knowing without thinking", " well, thinking and knowing come from seeing and believing"; all the while I'm trying to be couritous to my fellow man who happens to think outside the square, so to speak and accepts more than I justify accepting during my weakest moments.
