Marching in the 1979 Chicago Gay Pride Parade (10 years after Stonewall) I don't think it would have occurred to very many of us there we would live to see the day.

At the time it was enough the city issued a permit for the parade, the cops didn't harass us, and the Moral Majority types didn't shoot at us or bomb the parade route.
